New Ruling from Judge Makes It Clear: Backpage Co-conspirators Must Face The Music

Recently we here at the blog told you about the attempt made by Backpage to have the judge overseeing their upcoming child sex trafficking trial removed. Needless to say, the desperate gambit did not work out so well for the Backpage defendants.

Today we are back with more good news for our readers about the upcoming trial. After months of back and forth it has now been finally decided upon that yet another Backpage-enable must stand face trial on state and federal sex-trafficking facilitation charges.

Our readers will remember how Salsesforce.com helped assist Backpage sexually exploit young women and children over the years. Now the company is being called to answer for the role it played helping pimps repeatedly sell girls for sex through classified ads on Backpage.com.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in Houston, TX ruled that charges brought by numerous young women should proceed because there’s amble evidence Salesforce.com continued selling customer-relationship management tools and services to the internet ad company long after law enforcement publicly accused it of running a nationwide online brothel.

The women bringing the charges accuse Salesforce of aiding in their exploitation by providing Backpage with computer services, including customized database tools and credit card processing.

Tony Ortega Backpage apologist

And, just like Tony Ortega, Salesforce.com shared in the profits generated by Backpage through these crimes.

We believe if there is to be anything like justice in this case, those who were in on Backpage’s human trafficking scheme should be made to answer for the roles they played. Whether corporate entities like Salesforce or small-time fraudsters like Tony Ortega, the victims harmed by Backpage and its co-conspirators deserve to have their day in court.
